Import past calls

If your app's calls are already in an observability tool, you can import them. Mubit treats imported calls like the calls your app sends: it finds tasks in them. The import reads from Langfuse, Braintrust or Pydantic Logfire with a read-only key.

Only an admin of your organization can import calls. A member sees An admin of your organization imports calls.

Before you start

Create a read-only key in your tool:

ToolKey to create
LangfuseA project API key with the Viewer permission
BraintrustA service token in the Viewers group
Pydantic LogfireA read token

For Langfuse, paste the key in the form the field's placeholder shows: pk-lf-...:sk-lf-....

Start an import

  1. In the console's sidebar, open Import past calls.
  2. Under Source, choose your tool: Langfuse, Braintrust or Pydantic Logfire.
  3. Choose the host your tool's account is on, such as your Langfuse host.
  4. Paste your read-only key in Read-only key.
  5. To test the key first, select Check key. A working key shows Accepted, with the newest call and the models it found.
  6. Under Window, choose how far back to read: 7 days, 14 days or 30 days.
  7. Select the box that starts I may share these calls with Mubit.
  8. To keep the key for the next import, select Keep the key for later imports.
  9. Select Start import.

What the import reads

  • The calls in the window you chose.
  • Only the calls from before your project's first call through Mubit. The page says Cut at the project's first live call.
  • Mubit sends your tool read requests only. A request outside the tool's read-only list is stopped, and the import fails.

Your project runs one import at a time. To start another, wait for the first to end, or cancel it.

Follow the import

The page shows the newest import with its state: Queued, Running, Paused, Done, Failed or Cancelled. While it runs, a line counts the calls read, imported and skipped, and the tasks found. The page updates by itself.

  • To stop an import, select Cancel.
  • A Paused import says why it paused. When your tool limits the rate, the page says when the import resumes.
  • A Failed import says why it failed.

When the import is done, the page shows how many calls it imported into how many tasks. Open Tasks to see them.

The key

After you save the key, the page shows only •••• and its last 4 characters.

When an import ends, Mubit deletes the key, unless you chose Keep the key for later imports. The last line says which: The key was deleted. or The key was kept.
